Gatwick car park management awarded industry standard

Gatwick Airport's managed car parking scheme has once again won an industry standard award that marks it out as an exceptionally safe place for people to leave their cars.

The company behind the scheme, Help-Me-Park, has been awarded the Safer Parking Scheme award Parkmark, an initiative run by the Association of Chief Police Officers. It is the second year in a row that it has gained the recognition.

Help-Me-Park's development manager, Mike Bibby, said maintaining the standard of the parking scheme had been a group effort between the company and the local policing team.

"I am very pleased to have been part of working with [Help-Me-Park Operations Manager] Mr. McCarthy and the police accredited assessors John Lee and Mike Bessent from Surrey Police," he said.

"With no crime recorded over the past twelve months, this creates a safe and non-threatening environment and customers can feel confident in the knowledge their vehicles will be well cared for."

Improvements in the car park include a modernized CCTV system, access control, comprehensive security lighting and excellent boundary security. All levels of staff have received relevant training in areas including management practices and security procedures.

Operations Director, Sean McCarthy, said, “Having worked closely with the Police and the Safer Parking Scheme to achieve the standards required I would recommend every customer looking for airport parking to check that the car park they use has the Parkmark accreditation for their peace of mind."
